The Douglas Wright Foundation is a charitable organization devoted to fighting melanoma cancer in Canada by increasing awareness, educating the public about early detection and preventative measures, and fostering partnerships between likeminded organizations.

The incidence of melanoma has increased dramatically in Canada in recent years. Melanoma is also the most common cancer among young adults in the prime years of their life. Yet, the potential life threatening risks of melanoma are grossly misunderstood by Canadians.

If caught in its early stages, melanoma is highly treatable, with a survival rate of close to 100 percent. This knowledge gives us hope that, if Canadians are better educated about the importance of protecting and monitoring their skin, we can save lives needlessly lost to melanoma.

Doug was an energetic and positive person that invigorated the lives of his friends, family, and his community. The Douglas Wright Foundation aims to embody his best qualities in the fight against melanoma.
